General Rules

  • All morphs must be applied for using the valid format and need to be posted in this subforum.
  • If the staff notices that a player continuously applies for morphs on various characters, and keeps going inactive on them, aforementioned player will be temporarily, and in some cases, permanently blacklisted from morphs.
  • Do not ask staff to look at, approve, or evaluate your morph requests. They are handled every Sunday, in batches, or at the Staffs discretion, as are all other requests.
  • The staff reserves the right to hold off approval/review of morph applications in higher tiers (Tier 3 & 4) by new players in order to give a period of time for the player to familiarize with the server and the staff to familiarize with the player.
  • The staff reserves the right to deny morph applications for any of the following reasons: Insufficient or dissatisfactory understanding or presentation of relevant lore, a past history of abuse or breach of server rules or staff and community confidence by the applicant, the applicant has a number of morphed characters of the same type already (especially Tier 3 & 4 morphs), and/or the relative population of the morph applied for is too bloated (fringe cases & Tier 4).
  • If your request is denied, you will find a reason as to why it was denied on the morph request. You may reapply the moment it is denied, provided you tweak the application so that it no longer has a reason to be denied.
  • Storytellers cannot approve morphs, nor will Dev's unless we allow the person in particular to do so. Don't ask them to.
  • For Tier 2, 3, and 4: If your morph is approved, you must wait a full 7 days from the date of approval to apply for another. This doesn't mean you can apply for only one morph in a single thread. If you apply for three morphs, you will still be expected to wait 7 days, and not 21. This rule does not apply to Tier 0 and 1 morphs.
  • For temporary morphs, you may ask a GM in LFG or asking for the Staff in Discord, but remember to specify why you want it. If you want to morph into a Dragon to show that your players in your event are fighting a Dragon, then ask for the temporary morph from the Staff. You do NOT need to apply for a temporary morph. Alternatively you can apply for Storyteller to use these abilities.
  • For Forlarren, we still reserve the right to take away the character if you're doing questionable things / breaking rules on them based on their heritage. Examples include but are not limited to: Godmodding and metagaming, stretching the lore of the setting, visiting areas they shouldn't (considering limitations of Sanctioning or a lack thereof) and similar offenses. Because Forlarren lack a set precedent in WoW, especially the version we permit on Freedom, Forlarren players need to employ certain degrees of caution and moderation in regards to their heritage and what powers and abilities come with it and which areas of the game they choose to appear in. If you're unsure, refer to previous announcements regarding Forlarren or ask a member of the staff. Please see this and this thread as well.

Dragon/Drake Restrictions

(Things you need to know about applying for a Drake)

You are allowed to apply for a Drake, but must be aware of the terms and conditions which you cannot break both in-character and out-of-character. Please be aware we will accept drake of the four colours, black drakes and nether drakes, with Infinite drakes being allowed only as antagonists. (Blue, Green, Red, Bronze are the colours)

If an approved Drake goes inactive very shortly after approval, or breaks the listed ruling, the WoW Freedom Staff reserves the right to remove the Drake. We want to see that you wish to play the character and that it isn't just a knee-jerk reaction.

This is a brief list of the regulations required to be followed while playing an approved Drake or Dragon character.

  • You must remain in good standing with your flight, it's ideals, and act in accordance of the rules of the Wyrmrest Accord*. (If you're a red, preserve life. If you're a green, ensure that the balance of the world and the emerald dream is being maintained - Really only applies to the main 4 flights) (*See rule 7 for Blue Dragonkin)
  • You can evolve into a Dragon, or apply for a Dragon separate to a drake (For the main 4 colors, and nethers and skeletals), but ALL dragon applications are case by case.
  • Do not be a menace to role-play. Try to avoid being intrusive. Drakes have a variety of means to stay hidden, but we ask you to be fair in your means, as this isn't an excuse to stalk someone or their RP.
  • Your drake cannot start with fantastic amounts of power. Despite being a Drake/Dragon, your character should be like any other new character you create, with the added perks and bonuses of being a Drake, and a member of the Wrymrest Accord.
  • You don't need to explicitly state a number for your Drakes age, but it must be under 200 years old and over 1 year.
  • Your drake cannot procreate or lay eggs in current time, this is as a result of the Dawn of the Aspects book and canon lore.
  • Unaffiliated or independent Blue drakes since the disbanding of the Blue Dragonflight do not benefit from the protection of the Wyrmrest Accord and may be subject to In-Character reprimand if their operations become too compromising to other Drakes, Dragons and their Dragonsworn. The staff reserves the right to deny any Blue Dragonkin applications that don't have compelling arguments for their independent operations.
  • Twilight Drakes are inherently corrupted, and this should be reflected as a chaotic evil disposition. Such characters should also ensure they have a good explanation as to how they survived Cataclysm, and they need to understand that being found out ICly would almost certainly result in being hunted down.
  • Infinite Drakes are inherently twisted, and this should be reflected as an antagonist. They need to understand that being found out ICly would almost certainly result in being hunted down.
  • Corrupted Black Drakes can be played on Azeroth, Pandaria, AND the Broken Isles because Wrathion's location is unknown, however they need a reasonable way to have gotten there.
  • Uncorrupted Black Drakes MUST come from Outlands, they would have been black drakes that were born on Outlands and are severed from the corruption having been born there. We may limit the number of drakes later so as to avoid over-saturating them from MoP to WoD, we will consider allowing more applications for uncorrupt black drakes later and make an announcement for it. Additionally uncorrupt black drakes MUST keep what they are a secret to most societies. Revealing oneself to a large group will have IC consequences. This is subject to change later in the content.
  • Skeletal Drakes/Dragons/Whelps can be applied for without having to kill a drake character, but we expect the application to detail specifically what flight they were from, how they were raised, and what they do now. Additionally there are ONLY three options for Skeletal Dragon/Drake alignment: Forsaken, Ebon Blade, and Antagonistic. If the drake does not adhere to this we reserve the right to take away the character as we do with all morphs. For mortal disguises we suggest using only Undead/Forsaken/Death Knight skins for the disguise as your dragon/drake/whelp will ooze necrotic energy and you would have to explain your necrotic energy if you’re in a living disguise.
  • Skeletal Dragons and Netherwing Dragons can be applied for without having to progress or age-up from a pre-existing Drake character (although that is allowed if a player wants to do so)

Hybrid Drakes/Dragons Rules

  • Hybrids can only be part of the five main dragonflights (Red, Blue, Bronze, Black, Green)
  • Hybrids are considered a social taboo by the main flights, as mating outside of your own flight was something just not done. As a result, they are rare, and can choose ONE of the main flights to join. This is normally based on which bloodline is stronger. (Player Preference)
  • Hybrids take on the combat aspect of the stronger bloodline, while they can have fluff/enhancements/aid from their secondary aspect. (A Primary Blue, Secondary red may be amazing at magic in battle, but know first aid to help in the aftermath.).
  • Hybrid drakes will be T3 and hybrid dragons will be T4 if they are a mix of blue, red, bronze, and green.
  • Any Hybrid mixed with the black flight will be a T4 application.
  • Any black dragon hybrids will have been the result of forced creation, be it by alchemical, magical or other means. Those mixed with this flight will find it hard to belong with any of the flights unless they become corrupted and join the insane black dragon flight. Until Wrathion returns to the Wyrmrest accord, uncorrupted black-mixed hybrids are similar to Forlarren and are disconnected from the other four flights.
  • All hybrids will have to have been hatched before the Cataclysm and suffer the same breeding restrictions as the rest: They cannot procreate.
  • When making the application, players will need to inform us which color is the primary color and which is the secondary color.
  • Dragons cannot cross-breed with non-dragons. No half-dragon/Half-human/elf/orc/ect. Disclaimer: This may change depending on Blizzard lore in the future.

Chromatic Flight Rules

  • They must be a whelp that somehow survived the initial purge of them during classic. Either because their eggs where kept in hibernation or because their various mutations have extended their whelp stage much longer than normal.
  • Player Chromatics have similar limitations to Hybrids. Only Chromatics can have 2 active flight colors and the other 3 are considered fluff. Please note these in your apps. Keep in mind your whelp will have limited knowledge of these powers and would have to be trained/taught. These characters should be relatively non-combat characters until they can age up into drakes.
  • Come mid-end BFA we will most likely allow these whelps to age up into drakes. Dragons are a bit sketchy at moment but if it is allowed it would most likely be some time in Dragonflight.

Eredar, Nathrezim, and Non-Legion Aligned Demons

  • Eredar/Eredar Lords who go to Draenor should stay in/near Legion-controlled areas (such as parts of Shattrath).
  • Non-Legion Aligned Demons MUST be Illidari aligned or incredibly self-serving to break away from the Legion, we are NOT allowing purified demons. ALL Demons must make a Tier 4 application if they are intended to be anti-legion aligned characters.
  • Nathrezim are open to be applied for as we are in WoD; They do not necessarily need to be in Draenor only. They MUST be Legion-aligned. UPDATE: Due to Shadowlands Lore, Nathrezim are no longer playable. Current morphs are grandfathered in.
